Father: Louis Charles Startz, aka "Mr. LC"
Mother: Mary Jane Holman Startz, aka "Mrs. LC"

American spelling is Startz; German spelling is Starz; a descendent of the Starz line from Fachsenfeld, later the Heilbronn area, Wurttemberg, Germany. Louis Christopher's great grandfather was Johann Startz who was a Citizen of The Republic of Texas.

Louis Christopher Startz "LC Startz Jr" (19 yo son) was born 11/13/1898 possibly in San Saba, Texas; and died 10/9/1918, likely at the same place, at his father's farm southwest of San Saba, TX. Louis Christopher Startz "LC Jr." was the last child of Louis Charles and Mary Jane Holman Startz. The Startz family burial plots are near the back of the Wallace Creek Cemetery, about 15 rows from the back, left side of the main road. LC Jr is buried about two plots to the right of his parents Louis and Mary Startz. (Empty plot is unknown.) The old Startz farm (abandoned in the 1970's but still used as a hunting lodge) and the Wallace Creek cemetery are in the same area southwest of San Saba, Texas. LC Jr.'s small gray-green stone is very lightly engraved and best viewed at sunrise. The stone must have been engraved using basic hand tools.

Louis Jr. died of the Spanish flu during the 1918 Spanish flu pandemic. His death certificate noted that he had suffered from the flu for 11 days, suffered from pneumonia his last 3 days, that he died at 7:00am on 9 OCT 1918, and was buried at the Wallace Creek cemetery 10 OCT 1918.

The 1918 Spanish flu pandemic (caused by the H1N1 influenza A virus ) was an unusually severe, multi-year influenza pandemic that spread across the world in four waves. The virus mutated to more severe forms, with the 1917 version being average, but later versions mutated to a very severe version. Many victims of the Spanish flu were healthy young adults aged 20 to 40, in contrast to most influenza outbreaks which predominantly affect juvenile, elderly, or weakened patients. Young adults were especially affected due to the flu virus causing a severe over-reaction from a younger-stronger immune system; (similar to the 2019 pandemic/COVID 19). Flu victims typically suffered many days from influenza, then developed severe bacterial lung infections causing pneumonia, resulting in death. It was said that some victims died within 12 hours to a few days from one of the more severe mutations. The pandemic lasted from mid-1917 to the end of 1920, spreading even to the Arctic and remote Pacific islands. An estimated 50 million people (about 3% of the world's population of 1.8 billion at the time) died of the disease; making it one of the deadliest natural disasters in human history. Some 500 million, or 28% of the world's population were infected. Fortunately, no other members of the Startz family died from the Spanish flu.
