Times-Leader, October 28, 1937. John Henry was born September 23, 1856 in Hamilton County and died October 2, 1937 when he was struck by an auto on Belle City Rd. He was the son of Thomas and Abashaba TRAMMEL Green and eldest of 11 children. He married Mary Adeline Crouch on September 9, 1884, she died in 1935. They had two children, Mrs. Bessie Claunch survives; one child Alonzo C. Green died. Leaves one sister Mrs. Tabatha Rose; two brothers, George of the St. Louis and Adam of McLeansboro; six grandchildren, Chris Geiger of Strawn, Marie Mitchell of Mount Vernon, Lawrence Geiger of Strawn, Frank Geiger of Dahlgren, Mrs. Virginia Staton of St. Louis, Missouri and Frank O. Green of Carbondale. Interred in the Crouch Cemetery.
