MRS. WEINTRAUT DIES AT HOME

Funeral Friday for County Resident

Following a brief illness, Mrs. Magdalene Weintraut, age 75, died at her home north of Waldron at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday.
Born in Oldenburg on April 28, 1870, Mrs. Weintraut was the daughter of Balthasar and Elizabeth Stueder Roell. In 1891 she was united in marriage to George F. Weintraut, who survives with seven children, the Misses Amanda and Frances Weintraut, at home; Mrs. Ralph Richey, of Waldron; Mrs. Victor Lee Fisher, of Evansville; Albert Weintraut, of Waldron; Adam Weintraut, of New Castle and Edward Weintraut, of this city. Three daughters preceded her in death.
Also survining are five brothers, Adam and Henry Roell, of this city; Frank Roell, of Indianapolis; Gregory Roell, of New Port, and Carl Roell, of near Shelbyville; 20 grandchildren, two of whom are serving in the U. S. Army, two in the Merchant Marine and one in the Woman's Army Corps and five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Weintraut had resided at her present home since her marriage to Mr. Weintraut 54 years ago.
She was a member of the St. Vincent Catholic Church and the St. Vincent Alter Society.
Funeral services will be conducted at the church at 9:30 a.m. Friday with Rev. John Bankowski officiating. Burial will be made in the St. Vincent cemetery in charge of Charles M. Ewing. Friends may call at the late residents after noon today. (Obit: Shelbyville Republican, Oct. 13, 1945)
