1850 Federal Census shows John and Lucinda in Lamar County, TX with five children.
1860 shows John and Elizabeth in Burnet County, TX with seven children.
1870 shows John and Elizabeth in Lampasas County, TX with
eight children.
John R. was in the first two census listing, but absent in 1870.

THE LAMPASAS LEADER
FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 25, 1898

Mr. J. R. Casbeer, who left Lampasas in 1869 for California, known to the people of that day as Bob Casbeer, died in Winslow, Arizona, last Friday of Pneumonia. He was full brother of Joe Casbeer and a half brother of D.W., S.H., Ike and Henry Casbeer. He was a bachelor, 51 years of age. The body will be brought back here for interment later on.
