Brother of William Harrison born 1807 (see Find A Grave Memorial# 53273047) in Sauratown on the Dan River, North Carolina (named after the Sauratown mountain range and near the present day town of Eden, NC); and brother of Tyree Harrison born 1801( see Find A Grave Memorial# 81898409) in North Carolina or Tennessee. Parents names currently unknown, mother referred to in some sources as "Widow" Harrison. Lewis and his brothers William and Tyree possibly had two or more sisters, including Sarah Eliza Harrison who married Noah Giesler. It is beleived this Harrison family was in Kentucky after TN/ NC and just prior to coming to Missouri circa 1820-1830 with the families of Bradford, Duncan, and others in wagon trains led by Daniel Boone. They first settled in the Franklin and Crawford County area and took up land, then later appear on Phelps and Maries County census records(as county land boundaries changed).

Y-DNA testing of a direct descendant of this Harrison line has been completed. See http://www.worldfamilies.net/surnames/harrison/pats
