Anyone who knew him became aware of his love for the Lord and the Church. They saw a life lived as an example that others could follow. He will be missed by all. He served his country in the United States Navy and was a faithful and active member of Timberlane Church of Christ.
He was preceded in passing by his father L.D. Hendrix, Sr.; his mother, Linnie Mae Hendrix, his brothers and sisters Algie, Virginia, Valeria, Howard, Iva, Kirg and Oveta.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Joy and Ted Smythe, Southport, NC, Thomas Hendrix, Quincy, FL, Timothy and Suzanne Hendrix, Tallahassee, FL and Mitchell Hendrix; grandchildren, Leigh Merino, Kelly Anne Hendrix, Ian Smythe, David C. Hendrix and Daniel P. Hendrix; brother and sister-in-law, Devon and Juanita Hendrix, Wisconsin; sister, Tava Marie Welch, Eldridge, AL; numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral is 1:00 PM, Saturday, June 19, 2010, at Timberlane Road Church of Christ, with interment following at 2:30 PM, at Tallahassee Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
