Octavia "Tava" Marie Hendrix Welch, 85, of Eldridge, died Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at her home.
Visitation will be today, Dec. 10, 2012, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Eldridge Church of Christ in Eldridge, with funeral services at 3 p.m.
She was the 7th of 10 children born to Law Donald and Linnie Mae Hendrix.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Welch; son, Gary Welch; granddaughter, Leeann Marie Hurst; sisters, Virginia Stover, Valeria Wyers, Iva Tucker and Oveta Farris; brothers, Algie Hendrix, Kirg Hendrix, Howard Hendrix and L.D. Hendrix; and several brothers- and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Sanford of Jasper and Sandra W. Hurst of Eldridge; grandchildren, Casey Farris (Tammy) of Houston, Tex., Dara Farris and Kyle Farris (fiance, Lori Beth Whitfield) of Eldridge; great-grandchildren, Trey Farris, Will Farris, Lily Farris and Preston Farris; one brother, Devon Hendrix (Juanita) of Wisconsin; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be all the children she has cared for over the years.
She requested that any memorial donations be made to Childhaven in Cullman, Ala.
