Violet M. (Peg) Helwig, 85, of Middletown, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, July 9, 2010.
She was born on March 18, 1925 and was the daughter of the late John and Pearl Quick.
She was a former employee of the Olmsted Air Force Base Cafeteria, Middletown.
She was a former member of the Christ Church, Fountain Springs.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband, Earl L. Helwig on October 3, 1993; brothers, Emerson, Ross and Wilmer Quick; and sister, Ann Athow.
She enjoyed the love of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and sewing.
Peg is survived by her daughter, Peggy A. Ginnovan of Middletown; son, Ronald L. husband of Ruth Helwig of Middletown; sister, Stella P. Bolich of Ashland; brothers, John and Clair Quick of Ashland; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a great-granddaughter on the way.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 in the Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
There will be no viewing or visitation.
The Matinchek & Daughter Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Middletown is handling arrangements.
