Ernest Jones, Jr., 63, the eldest son of Ernest Jones, Sr. and Leola Young was born in Chicago, Illinois, on March 7, 1925.
Later the Jones Family moved to Detroit where Ernest Jr. attended Detroit Public Schools. In 1942 he served in the United States Navy until 1946.
On June 28, 1947, Ernest, Jr. united in Holy Matrimony to Doris Doretha Lewis. To this union five children were born; Ernest Jones, III, Rufus Franklin Jones, Allen Douglas Jones, Doris Eilyad Jones, and Deidre Gail Jones who died in infancy.
In 1982, Ernest, Jr., retired from the Chrysler Warren Division where he was employed for 39 years as a repairman.
Ernie departed this life on Saturday, August 20, 1988m doing what he enjoyed doing best while helping to clean the Clinton River and being concerned and showing his devoted love for God's Green Earth and environment.
Ernie, "Honey", as he was affectionately called by his wife, was a very devoted and loving husband and father who always dedicated his love, time and energies, making life pleasant and secure for his family whom he loved so very much. His family loved Ernie too and gave him his flowers of love while he survived. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory a loving wife Doris Doretha, of the home; three sons; Rufus, Ernest III of Atlanta, Georgia; one daughter Doris Eilyad of Detroit; three brothers Willie, Albert and Lester Jones; one sister, Anna Cameron; one granddaughter Chardai and a host of relatives and caring friends.
