Raymond Franklin Craig Jr., 82, widower of Dorothy Elizabeth (Howdyshell) Craig, of 190 Old Laurel Hill Road, died Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
He was born Dec. 22, 1927, in Weyers Cave, a son of the late Raymond F. Sr. and Florence (James) Craig.

Mr. Craig served during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, he was employed by the State Highway Department.

In addition to his wife, who preceded him in death July 26, 2004, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Stanley, Preston and Nelson Craig, and two sisters, Hazel Shifflett and Doris Parrish.

Family members include two sisters, Margaret C. Hunter of Staunton and Peggy C. Snyder of Barren Ridge, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, July 12, 2010, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Revs. Michael Winters and William Strickler. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Mausoleums and Memory Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Craig, William and Garry Parrish, Gene Shuey, Darrell Cash and Ronnie Buchanan.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Tisdale, Anthony Grant, Jamie Eavey and Lucian Parrish.

Memorials may be made to Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 129 Old Laurel Hill Road, Verona, VA 24482.
