Preston Coolidge Craig, 63, of Rt. 3, Staunton, died Sunday, (Dec. 25, 1988) at the UNiversity of Virginia Medical Center, after suffering a heart attack Friday.
He was born April 23, 1925 in Mt. Sidney, a son of Florence James Craig and Raymond F. Craig.
He was employed by Waynes Manufacturing Co. for 30 years prior to his retirement in 1978.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran CHurch of Waynesboro. He served with the military police during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
On March 9, 1946 he married Helen Burzynski.
In addition to his mother, who resides in Staunton, and widow, survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Lilly of Weyers Cave; one son, James P. Craig of Waynesboro; four sisters, Hazel Shifflett of Waynesboro, Margaret Hunter of Staunton, and Doris Parrish and Peggy Snyder, both of Waynesboro; two brothers, Raymond F. Craig, Jr. of Verona and Nelson Craig of Crimora; and one granddaughter.
A service will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, at Zion Lutheran Church by the Rev. Robert Humphrey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
THe family will recieve friends at Lindsey Weyers Cave Funeral HOme from 7:30 to 8:30 tonight.
