Caroline Yaegel, 79, died at 6:05 p.m.yesterday in St. Mary's hospital. She had been ill a year. For the last 77 years, she lived at 800 East Clay.
She was born May 13, 1871 in Frankfort, Ky., a daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Schnorr Yaegel and came to Decatur with her family in 1873.
Miss Yaegel attended the original St. James Catholic school and was a member of St. James Church.
She leaves two sisters, Mrs. T.E.Gasaway and Mrs. J.O. Gebhart, and three brothers, Robert, John and Frank, all of Decatur. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, William and Charles and three sisters, Bessie, Mrs. Charles Seibert and Mrs. Joseph Masterson.
Friends may call between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. today and after 10 a.m. Sunday at J.J. Moran & Sons funeral home.
The rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Moran's. Requiem high mass will be at 9 a.m. Monday in St. James church with burial in Calvary cemetery.
