Last rites were held Monday afternoon at Squires Funeral home here for Mrs. Maggie Belle Seay, 76, who died at McVay Memorial Hospital Friday, February 1, 1952. The Rev. Harry M. Burns, pastor of Trinity Methodist Church here, was the officiating clergy. Burial was in Cottonwood Cemetery southwest of Lake City.
Maggie Belle Trucks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Trucks, was born in Scott County, Iowa, March 5, 1875. Her girlhood was spent in and near Lake City. Here she married George Seay November 4, 1894. Two sons were born, both of whom survive. Mr. and Mrs. Seay farmed near Lake City most of their lives. They lived in South Dakota for two years.
Mrs. Seay was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one brother and five sisters. Survivors are her sons Raymond of Lake City and Earl of Knoxville, Iowa; one sister, Mrs. Lissie Willis, and one brother, Will Trucks, of Lake City; five grandchildren and one great-grandson.
