Hannah was the daughter of George Hanby and Jane Jackson. She married Thomas Baxter on Nov 28 1840 in England. They were the parents of 9 children: Isabella (1841), Christina (1843), George (1845), John Arthur (1847), James Edward (1850-1930 KA), Thomas Jackson (1851-1923), Charles Woolfoot (1854), Amelia (1856-1942, Charles A Briggs), and Emily (1862-1927, Charles Goldsmith). and a daughter in England.

The Sac Sun - Thursday , February 23rd, 1899 - Mrs Thomas H Baxter died at 6:30 Sunday morning Feb 19, 1899 at her home in this city after an illness of several weeks, beginning with an attack of grip, which developed into pneumonia.

The funeral services were held on Tuesday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, the decedents pastor Rev DR AH Chittenden, delivering a touching discourse. The burial was in Oakland cemetery.

Mrs Baxter's maiden name was Hannah Hanby. She was born at Carrolton, near Sabalh?, Yorkshire England Dec 15, 1822 consequently her age at the time of her summons to the life beyond was 76 years, 2 months, and 4 days.

On Nov 28, 1840 she was united in marriage with Mr Thomas H Baxter in Rothwell church, Leeds, England. To them were born 9 children. The family came to the United states in 1869 and settled near Wheaton, IL.

Besides the bereft husband, 3 sons and 3 daughters are left to mourn. One daughter resides in England; one son, James resides in Kansas; George H and Thomas J live in Cedar township; and the other daughters, Mrs CA Briggs and Mrs CD Goldsmith, live in Sac City.
