Nancy Jane Sones, 71, of Hyde, passed away on Thursday, June 17, 2010 at her home.

Ms. Sones was born on January 13, 1939 in Clearfield, the daughter of John P. and Florence L. (Rowles) Litz.

She had worked for twenty one and a half years as a clerk at Uni-Mart

Ms. Sones was affiliated with the Calvary United Methodist Church of West Decatur.

She was a member of the Lewis Shea Post # 1785 VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by three children: Kenneth M. Sones and his wife Cindy of Hyde, Randy K. Sones and his wife Donna of Clearfield, Jack E. Sones and his wife Lisa of Hyde, three step children: Garry Sones, Dale Sones, Lorrayne Martin, six grandchildren: Matt Sones, Leighann Sones, Jason Sones, Anthony Sones, Anna Sones, DJ Sones, five great grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters: Raymond A. Rowles of Clearfield, John Litz and his wife Georgeann of West Decatur, Jennie Dietzler of Lancaster, Francine Minturn and her husband Charles of Lancaster, Cindy McKendrick and her husband Perry of Clearfield, Frank Venerick, Jr. and his wife Diane of Clearfield, three sister-in-laws and two brother-in-laws: Gloria Kyler, Stanley Sones, Mahlon "Wimp" Sones, Janet Nearhood, Carole "Pinky" Kreiger.

Ms. Sones was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Myles K. Sones whom she married on November 27, 1970 in West Decatur and who died on November 8, 2006, a daughter, Brenda Lee and a brother David H. Litz.

Funeral Services will be held at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Brent Salsgiver officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, June 20th from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 7:00-9:00 P.M. and on Monday 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the services.

The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Clearfield Foundation for Health-Hospice, P.O. Box 992, Clearfield, PA 16830.
