The funeral was held from the Oehl Funeral Home on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. thence to the Catholic Church for services, with burial in the Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Rev. Jos. Knopp officiated at the last rites.
Pallbearers were: Ed Boehm, Rud. Papacek, Henry Wenske, Theodore Wenske, Arthur Schultz, and Jim Hoepfl.
Henry Pohler was born in Germany on November 19, 1858. He came to this Country at the age of 27. On December 28, 1886, he was united in marriage to Miss Emilie Gaertner, who preceded him in death on December 09, 1930. For some time they lived in Moulton and later moved to Shiner, where they resided for many years. In 106 they moved back to the Moulton vicinity and in 1914 they moved to town, which has been there ever since.
Survivors include six children, they are Hugo Pohler and Frieda Fischnar of Shiner, Richard Pohler and Martha Biehunka of Moulton, Henry Pohler and Della Aschenbeck of Houston; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, and three brothers, Frank of Rowena, Bruno of Fredericksburg and Emil of Shiner.
Deceased was one of the pioneer settlers of this section. He was man of sterling character, ever willing and ready to lend a helping hand, no matter when and by whom it was needed. His departure from this community will long be regretted. To those who mourn his passing the Gazette offers sincere and heartfelt sympathy.
