Hays Miles, 83, of Hamilton died Saturday, Aug. 22 at Leisure Lodge Nursing Home following and extended illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 24 at the Riley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Tim Moody officiating. Burial was at Smith Cemetery in Purmela.
Mr. Miles was born Oct. 13, 1908, in Hamilton County to James and Lillie Nichols Miles. He was a mechanic for El Paso Natural Gas Co. He married Eula Estilene Bertrend Feb. 2, 1941. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hamilton.
He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
Survivors include his wife; three children, Richard Miles, Eula Tipton, and Gary Miles; one sister, Evelyn Kemp, and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Steven Miles, Andy Miles, Kevin Green, Mark Tipton, Toby Miles, Brad Miles, Tye Miles, and Keith Miles.
