Death Notice.
The inscrutable counsels of God, was pleased to call our dearly beloved mother,
Anna Melchior, to the better afterlife.
She was laid to rest on 29 September. The body was accompanied under the cross
and flag from the mourning home by Reverend Pastor Cipin and the Women's
Association, whose member she was. The funeral service followed at St. Mary's
Church. Prof. Singenberger's funeral Mass was presented by the St. Cecilia Choir
in a fittingly pious manner.
Our beloved mother Anna Melchior, nee Biehl, first saw the light of day in
Schwemlingen, Trier, on 25 Nov. 1810, and reached the age of 81 years, 10 months
and 1 day.
May she rest in peace!
A devotional prayer is requested for the bereaved.

Anna Melchior, widow of the late
Michael Melchior Sr., died at the
home of her son, Matthias Melchior,
in this city, on Monday, September 26,
1892.
Deceased was born in Germany on
the 25th day of November, 1810, and
was aged 81 years, 10 months and 1
day at the time of her death. Her
maiden name was Anna Biehl. She
was married in Germany, in 1832, to
Michael Melchior Sr., who died in this
city about two years ago. She came to
this Country with her husband in 1866,
settling in this city, where they had
since permanently resided. Deceased
and her husband celebrated their
golden wedding at the time of the mar­
riage of the granddaughter, Katie
Melchior to Frank Pies, in 1883, after
They had been married 51 years. De­
ceased had been ill during the past
few years, and her death was not un­
expected by her relatives. She lived a
pious, industrious life, and possessed
those qualities of heart and mind that
win love and esteem to the possessor.
Deceased was the mother of eight
children, of whom but four are now
living: MathiasMelchior, Michael
Melchior, Mrs. M. Reinhart, all resi­
dents of this city, and Mrs Katherine-
Dier, residing in the town of Ahnapee.
One son, John Melchior, was a soldier
in the Federal army and was killed in
battle. The relatives of deceased have the
sympathy of their many- friends in
their affliction.
The funeral took place this, Thurs­
Day forenoon from St. Mary's Catholic
church. Rev. Fr. Cipin pastor' of the
church conducted the services.
