Lawson was the son of Aaron T. and Susanna (Walker) Burns of Blount County, TN. He married Martha Jane Jackson Nov. 21, 1879 in Blount County, TN. They had another daughter named Mayme who is not shown under the children because we don't know when she passed away or where she is buried. Mayme married William Henry Rudd Franklin on April 7, 1910 in Blount County, TN. Mayme was possibly residing in Cocoa Beach, FL when she passed away, but no record can be found to be sure that's where she died.
