PANHANDLE - Robert B. Choate, 63, died Thursday.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Vernon, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Choate was born in Russellville, Ark. He married Eula Taylor in 1945 at Manilla, Ark. He moved to Panhandle in 1952 from Blytheville, Ark. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a lift operator with Pantex for 36 years and he was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leon Choate of San Angelo and Junior Choate of Panhandle; two daughters, Jenny Hamilton of Amarillo and Lou Calhoun of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers, Raymond Choate of Aurora, Ill., Bill Choate of St. Louis, Mo., and J. I. Choate Jr. of Collinsville, Ill.; two sisters, Mary Ellen Alley of Morse Mill, Mo., and Helen Delaney of Campbell, Mo.; and nine grandchildren.
