Ada Louise "Lou" Calhoun, 57, of Moore, OK passed away June 13, 2016. She was born March 6, 1959 to Robert and Eula Choate, Sr. in Pampa, TX.
Lou was a member of South Lindsay Baptist Church, where she volunteered at the church nursery for over 33 years. Lou worked at the Moore Public School systems for over 20 years as a COTA. She also volunteered for the troops going and coming back from the military. Lou was part of the Gold Star family and was a big supporter of the Patriot Guard Riders. Most of all Lou enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her daughter and grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Lanesha Maynard and husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Sierra, Cheyenne, Autumn, and Takoda Morris; 2 brothers, Leon Choate and wife, Sue and Junior Choate.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alan Calhoun; parents; son, Derek Calhoun; sister, Virginia Hamilton.
Visitation will be held 9-9, Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK. Funeral services will be held 12:00 PM, Thursday, June 16, 2016 at South Lindsay Baptist Church, 3300 S. Lindsay, Oklahoma City, OK.
Interment to follow at Moore Cemetery, Moore, OK.
Services are under the direction of John M. Ireland Funeral Home and Chapel, Moore, OK.
