"CANFIELD -- Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Lane-Williams Funeral Home for Mrs. Elta L. Forney, 81, of 4456 Boardman-Canfield Road, well-known local pony breeder, who died of a heart ailment at 4 a.m. Wednesday at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Donna Benner, 12865 N. Palmyra Road, North Jackson. Mrs. Forney was born May 11, 1899, in Youngstown. She and her husband, Monroe, for many years were known throughout the area as pony breeders and exhibitors. They were lifetime members of the Mahoning Valley Pony Breeders Association and for 50 consecutive years they showed ponies at the Canfield Fair. She was a member of Locust Grove United Presbyterian Church. She leaves her husband, whom she married in 1919; a granddaughter and four great grandchildren. A son, Donald F., died in 1970. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. 11/27/80."
