Betty Mower, age 90 of Payson, passed away in the early morning hours on Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born, March 2, 1920 in Payson to Franklin Sylvester and Mary Ethel Tanner Hiatt.

She married Henry Lawrence Mower, November 24, 1939.

They were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple in June 1942.

They shared 70 years together.

Mom was raised and lived her whole life in Payson except for 8 years in the 70's when Dad's job took them to Moab.

She loved those years in Moab and made many cherished friends.

Wherever she made her home, it was filled with music, love, and great food for everyone who entered.

Her children grew up in a home with her singing in the kitchen and her grandkids and great-grandkids were at home in her lap with her softly singing.

She lived a life of service, not only to her family, but in every auxiliary of the church as well as Cultus Club president.

Her life was blessed by the many friends she served with.

She and Dad served as guides at the Provo Tabernacle, they served a 18 month mission at the LDS Employment Center and 18 years as ordinance workers in the Provo LDS Temple.

She is a woman of great faith. Her positive attitude lifted everyone who knew her, especially her family right to the end.

She left us a legacy of unselfishness, patience and strength.

Survivors include: her husband, Lawrence, Payson; children, Larry Q. (Zenith), Kirk, Colorado; Janet (Ted) Salazar, Mesa, Arizona; Paul J. (Bunny), Payson; Lynda (Byron) Sargent, Springville; Joe Lynn (Debbie), Price; Merilee Jones, Orem; 20 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Hull, Whitney, Idaho and a brother-in-law, Stirling Davis, Payson.

She was preceded in death by: a grandson; a great-granddaughter; brothers, Del, Randall and Ferron Hiatt; sisters, June Davis, Madge Randsbottom, Afton DeWitt and Adella Peterson.

Funeral services will be Monday, June 28, 2010, 11:00 a.m., in the Payson 18th Ward, 482 West 1400 South.

Friends may call at the Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson, Sunday, 6-8:00 p.m. or at the church Monday, 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Burial will be in the Payson City Cemetery.
