Henry Lawrence Mower left us peacefully June 29, 2012 two months shy of his 93rd birthday. He is now reunited with his wife after 2 long years without her.

He was born August 28, 1919 in Fairview, Utah to Ray and Florence Mower.

Dad spent his early years in Fairview. As a teenager he spent his summers herding sheep, which led him to move to Spring Lake. It was while living there that he met the love of his life, Betty Hiatt. They were married in November 1939 and sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in June 1942. They shared 70 years together!

The world has never known a harder worker. There was nothing he couldn't or wouldn't do. He was always working. He did whatever he could to provide for his family and make it possible for Mom to be a "stay at home Mom". He loved working with wood and built many beautiful things out of scraps he gathered.

He love gardening and took pride in a beautiful yard. He and Mom were very active in community and church service. Together they served as guides at the Provo Tabernacle, a mission at the LDS Employment Center and 18 years as ordinance workers in the Provo LDS Temple.

Survivors include: children Larry Q. (Zenith), Kirk, Colorado; Janet (Ted) Salazar, Mesa, Arizona; Paul J. (Bunny), Payson; Lynda (Byron) Sargent, Springville; Joe (Debbi), Price; Merilee Jones, Orem; 20 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 4 brothers, 6 sisters, his parents, and his wife.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 3, 2012, 11:00 a.m. in the Payson 18th Ward, 482 West 1400 South.

Friends may call at Walker Mortuary, 587 South 100 West, Payson on Monday July 2, 2012 from 6-8 p.m., or at the church one hour prior to services.
