Howard Bridges, age 70, of Lovelady, passed away Monday, July 1, 1996 at the East Texas Medical Center Crockett. Mr. Bridges was born Aug. 19, 1925 in Houston County and was a resident of Lovelady for most of his lifetime. he was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. Mr. Bridges was a member of the IBEW #718 for 35 years and a member of the First Methodist Church in Lovelady.

Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his father, Robert W. Bridges in 1977 and niece Shannon Bridges in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Juanita (Rollo) Bridges, whom he married Jan. 5, 1946 in Houston Co., Texas; son, Willis "Butch" Bridges of Houston; daughter Charlotte Hentschel and husband, Joe of Spring; mother Viola Bridges of Pearson Chapel, brothers, Earl Bridges and wife Lorraine of Pearson Chapel, Garlan Bridges and wife Nancy of Spring, Terrell Bridges and wife Sandra of Crockett; sisters Eloise Adams and husband Walter of Crockett, Hilda Adams and husband Mack of Lovelady, Joyce Adams and husband Chester of Weldon, Geraldine Gardner and husband Bennie of Weldon; sisters-in-law, Lanora Goodrum of Lovelady, Mae Lee Price of Lovelady; brothers-in-law, Delbert Rollo of Lovelady, Eskel Rollo and wife Myrth of Lovelady; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services for Mr. Bridges were held Wednesday, July 3 at 3 p.m. in the Lovelady First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jim Wood and the Rev. David Dear officiating. Interment followed in the Antioch Cemetery near Lovelady.
