Robert Louis "Bob" Harden, 80, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on January 24, 1927 in Meriden, the son of Orval and Goldie Lister Harden.
He graduated from Rossville High School. He was employed by Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Lawrence and Topeka for 42 years before retiring in January of 1989. He also farmed for most of his life. He coached his children's ball teams in Rossville for over 15 years.
Bob married Marie J. Krasny on May 17, 1953 in Topeka. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2006.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Homer Coulter, Loretta Murray and Ova Harden.
Survivors include his children, Michelle (Morris) Crisler of Wamego, Douglas (Rebecca) Harden of Rossville, Darrel Harden of Berryton, Joyce (Tom) Abernathy of Delia, Andrea (Robbi) Terry of Silver Lake, 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and siblings, Lola Patton, Orval Harden, Wilbur Harden and Marcella Wunder.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the Robert L. Harden memorial fund c/o Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604.
