Mrs. Bradford died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, in her home. She was born Feb 6, 1929, in West Plains, the daughter of James and Lula Thomas.
Veda served in her church in the outreach ministry providing Bible study and sermon DVDs to churches, missions and shut-ins. She opened her home and enjoyed cooking and serving food as part of her manna ministry. She was a Sunday school teacher at Pleasantview for ages 5 to 7 year olds for eight years.
Survivors include two daughters, Jacque Fitzgerald, Las Vegas, Nev., and Sammy Brauer, Scootsdale, Ariz., and one son Roger "Butchh" Bradford of Phoenix, Ariz., and one sister, Vera Ward, Topeka, Kan. She has eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her husband of 54 years, Elmer W. Bradford.
Veda is often thought of as a loving nurturing mother and grandmother. She moved to Arizona to be close to her family. She died peacefully in her home. She will be dearly missed by her paternal family, church family and friends.
Interment will be at the National Memorial Cemetery, 23029 North Cave Creek Road, Phoenix, Arizona.
Veda Mae Thomas Bradford was a good women who had a rough life. She was a fine Christian Woman, her strong faith in God is what kept her going for 81 years.
