J. Roy Smith, 66 year-old retired farmer, died at his home, 2500 Edgewood Avenue, at 2:30 p.m. yesterday. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include the widow, Mrs. Minnie Hodge Smith; daughters, Mrs. W. E. Beeler, Roanoke, Va.; Mrs. Frank Bowling, Knoxville; Mrs. James D. Burleigh (Bowling), Clinton, Tenn.; and Mrs. Ruby Irene Lawson, Knoxville; four grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Mamie Linster, Mrs. Minnie Greenlee, Mrs. Mable Chidr (Molly Childress), Mrs. Rose French and Mrs. Scott Palmer; brother, Bert Smith, Pensacola, Fla., and a number of nieces. The body was removed to Rose Mortuary.
