HIRAM WALKER HUFFMAN.
Hiram W. Huffman, born in Putnam County, Indiana, February, 1835, died March 17, 1912, aged 77 years and 23 days. He was the youngest of a family of eight children, all of who have preceded him to a better land, except one sister, Mrs. Sarilda Smith, now living in Kansas.
He was married to Mary Smith August 15, 1859. To this union was born and daughter, who, with her mother, preceded him to the mansion above. He was married to Elizabeth Edlin June 15, 1862. To this union were born thirteen children. Two of them died in infancy and one daughter, Mrs. Mattie Duzan, recently departed this life and now awaits with beckoning hands.
He has been a member of the Methodist Protestant Church at Milledgeville ever since the present church house was built, having helped in its building and furnished a great deal of the material for its construction.
He had been a sufferer of heart trouble since last fall, but bore his affliction patiently and fully realized that the end of all earthly things must soon come. He realized for himself that he was going to that beautiful home above. He was a devoted husband, a kind and loving father and a generous neighbor. He leaves a faithful wife, ten dutiful, obedient sons and daughters, thirty three grandchildren and a three great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn their loss.
