SARAH FRANCES, daughter of Robert and Isabelle (Scott) Clugston was born in Industry Township near Doddsville on January 4, 1853. and passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Junia Prather in Gary, Indiana, September 1, 1943, at the age of 90 years 7 months and 28 days. She had been ill since February.

Mrs. Black lived on the farm where she was born until her marriage to John Black on April 4, 1883. She moved to the Black farm in Doddsville, where she lived until the year 1906; she moved with her husband and family to Macomb where she remained the rest of her life, with the exception of the last nine years which she spent with her daughter.

She is survived by one son George of Doddsville, and one daughter Mrs. June Prather with whom she lived. Her husband and two sons Randolph and Henry are deceased. She leaves eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters, Ross Clugston of Littleton, Ed Clugston and Miss Marie Clugston of Joliet, Illinois, Mrs. Mary Brent of Eldorado, Kansas, Mrs. Alice Imes of Topeka, Kansas and Effie Hurst of Peoria, Il. Three brothers, Williams, Scott and John Clugston, and one sister Rachel Norton have preceded her in death.

Mrs. Black has been a life long member of the Presbyterian church.
