Clugsten-Venable.

James Ed. Clugsten and Miss Bessie Venable were united in marriage at the residence of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Venable, on South Randolph street Tuesday at 8 p. m., Rev. W. R. Wiley officiating. Only a few of the immediate relatives were present. The bride wore a dress of mixed silk and wool suiting; the groom wore the conventional black. They are making their home for the present with the bride's parents but will leave in about a week for Iowa City, where the groom will engage in the fence business. Both of the young people are well and favorably known here. The bride formerly clerked in the dry goods house of her father and her pleasant disposition and gentle manner won her many friends. The groom was formerly partner in the furniture store of Oakman, Clugsten & Vail. He is a good business man and will doubtless succeed well in his new undertaking. The Journal joins their many friends in extending congratulations and the best wishes for a long and happy life
