Ira Clair Bopra, 73, of Maple Grove Road, died Saturday after a long illness.
He was born Sept. 12, 1889, in Sanilac County and was a farmer all his life in the Carsonville area. He attended McCarren School. He was a member of McGregor Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He married the former Vera E. Clark Nov. 7, 1917 in Carsonville.
He is survived by his widow; two sons, Laurel (Gene) and William H. Bopra, Carsonville; four daughters, Mrs. Ken (Myrtle) Rhead, Sandusky, Mrs. James (Betty) Rumble, MarLette, Mrs. Robert (Marjorie) O'Connell, Carsonville, and Mrs. Douglas (Marion) Kenny, Deckerville; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a daughter, Hazel, died in 1920.
The remains are in Carman Jewell Funeral Home, Carsonville, where services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday. Elder William Stolickeer, of McGregor RLDS Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Washington Township Cemetery.
