"In March 1900, a church committee found that the Cranbury burial ground was in poor condition. Many stones were worn, broken or missing. The names of those unnmarked graves were not known. Four headstones remained standing and a few lying on the ground with inscriptions unreadable. The four standing stones and possibly a few fallen stones were moved to Hightstown." His and his wife Hannah's gravestones are reported to have been removed from Cranbury and placed in the left rear of the Hightstown graveyard.
