JOHN M'DONALD DIES IN ROSCOE
Funeral to Be Held Monday Afternoon with Burial at Argyle.
Funeral services for John R. McDonald, former resident of Rockford, who died Friday morning at 11:30 o'clock at the home of a daughter, Mrs. William McDonald, in Roscoe, after a long illness, will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the McDonald home in Roscoe, with burial in Argyle cemetery.
He was born in Argyleshire, Scotland, Sept. 27, 1844. He landed at Chatham, Canada, on July 4, 1850, and came to Illinois on Aug. 1 of the same year, residing in this section continuously since. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and was affiliated with the Frst Presbyterian church of Rockford.
His wife, Mrs. Jessie Breckeridge McDonald, died May 11, 1925. He is survived by six chuiildren, David B. McDonald, Caldonia, Mrs. Martha McDonald, Roscoe, Mrs. Mary R. Andrew, Caledonia, Mr. Olive Greenlee, Argyle, Mrs. Jessie Picken, Rockford, and John C. McDonald, Beloit. He also leaves 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
