Clyde Arnold, Retired Farmer, Dies Last Night
Clyde Russell Arnold, 63, retired farmer of the New Unionville community, died Monday at 9:30 p.m. at his home, 715 West Wylie street from heart disease. He had been in failing health for several months.
A native of Shelby county, he came to Monroe county as a young man of 20 years, settling on a farm which he worked until nine years ago. At that time, he sold out and moved to Bloomington. For a short time, he was employed at the Chevrolet plant during the war.
Survivors include the wife, Lula; four daughters, Mrs. Marjorie Ketchem, Elyria, Ohio; Mrs. Alice Gobert, Mrs. Viola Boltinghouse, and Mrs. Helen Epperson, all of Bloomington; five sons, Everett, Eugene, Frank, Robert and Richard, all of Bloomington; one brother, Ralph Arnold, Martinsville; and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Allen chapel with Rev. W. C. Chafin officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Memorial Park. The remains have been returned to the residence.
