Hays - Anna M. Leiker, 91, died Dec. 29 at Hays Medical Center. She was born March 21, 1909, at Antonino, the daughter of John and Margaret Steckline Urban.
She married Jacob Leiker June 2, 1931, at Antonino. He died June 1, 1996.
A resident of Hays, she was a homemaker and housekeeping supervisor at St. Anthony Hospital, retiring in 1975. Mrs. Leiker was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Eagle's Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Hays Medical Center Auxiliary and Perpetual Eucharistic Adorers, all of Hays.
Survivors include two sons, Herbert Leiker of Anza, Calif., and Ernest Leiker of Aurora, Colo.; three brothers, Walter Urban of Antonino, Paul Urban of Great Bend and Bill Urban of Osborne; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Marietta Kohlrus and Darlene Leiker; four brothers, Izzy Urban, Ben Urban, George Urban and Eugene Urban; and one sister, Sister Lillian Urban.
Perpetual Adorers rosary will be at 3 p.m., Hays Medical Center Auxiliary rosary at 3:30 p.m., Daughters of Isabella rosary at 4 p.m., Eagle's Auxiliary service at 4:30 p.m., VFW Auxiliary service at 5 p.m. and parish vigil at 6:30 p.m., all today at Hays Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Hays.
