After battling with failing health for several months, Arthur Fischnar closed his eyes in everlasting sleep last Thursday. July 3, at 4:30 a.m., having reached the age of 51 years, 3 months and 21 days. Death came at the local hospital.
The funeral, which was a very large one, was held from the family residence Friday, July 4. at 8:30 a.m. Monsignor and Father Billy conducted the services in the home. The procession then went its wended its way to the Catholic Church where, Msgr. L. P. Netardus, who also delivered beautiful words of consolation to the survivors, said Requiem High Mass. Internment was made in the Shiner Catholic Cemetery, Rev. E. Billy officiating at the grave.
Pallbearers were: Roy Pohler, Hugo Pohler Jr., Ed. Fischnar Jr., K. Spoetzl of Shiner; Robert Vakar and Mittanck Vackar of Gonzales. The many lovely flowers placed upon the grave, bespoke tender messages of sympathy to the bereaved ones.
The deceased was born in Industry, Austin County. But came to reside in the Shiner section with his parents when 6 years old and had made his home here ever since. He attended Sunset and Kokernot schools. On March 25, 1913, he was married to Miss Frieda Pohler. Mr. Fischnar for many years worked for the county and for the past 8 years was employed in the Spoetzl Brewery.
He possessed a friendly and jovial personality, and during his long years in the Shiner community he made countless friends who share the grief of his death with his family.
Surviving are his wife; three sons, Eugene, Burnell and Arthur; one daughter, Miss Faye; one brother, Ed Fischnar of Shiner; 5 sisters, Mrs. E. J. Pohler and Miss Agnes Fischnar of Shiner, Mrs. R. E. Mittanck and Mrs. J. W. Spradley of San Benito and Mrs. Charles Vackar of Gonzales.
To those whose hearts are torn with grief the Gazette tenders its most profound sympathy.

Brady, Mr. Herbert Pohler, Mrs. Frances Drabeck of Houston, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Mittanek and Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Spradley of San Benito; Mr. Henry Pohler Sr. and Mrs. Martha Biehunko, Ms. Charles Luece, of Moulton; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Vackar, Peggy Vackar Mittanck and Robert Vackar of Gonzales.
