Mrs. C. H. Vackar Funeral Tuesday
Last rites for Mrs. Mary Vera Vackar, wife of Charles H. Vackar, will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m. from the Baker Funeral chapel with the Rev. T. Frank George, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, conducting the services. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
Mrs. Vackar died at her home Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. She had recieved a broken hip in a fall at her home several months ago and had never fully recovered.
She was born in New Ulm on August 3, 1882, to John and Veronica Baros Fishner, natives of Germany and Bavaria, respectively. In 1906 she and Chatles H. Vackar were married and had made their home in Gonzales since, for 48 years.
Survivors include four children: two sons, Robert J. Vackar, this city, and M. C. Vackar of Edinburg; two daughters, Mrs. E. E. Griffin of Houston, and Mrs. Kenneth Mang, this city. Seven grandchildren, one brother, Eddie Fishner of Shiner, and two sisters, Mrs. C. B. Jackson of Van Buren, Ark., and Mrs. J. W. Spradley of San Benito, also survive.
