Julia Mae Sloan Thompson
MOULTRIE -- Julia Mae Sloan Thompson, 97, of Moultrie died Sunday, July 6, 2003, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Cobb Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Voyles officiating.

Burial will in Pinecrest Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Jason Thompson, Josh Thompson, Michael Thompson, Chris Thompson, Justin Jordan and Jerry Ferguson.

Born Sept. 16, 1905, in Colquitt County, Mrs. Thompson was the daughter of the late Ruth Murphy Sloan and David Sloan.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters, and a grandson, Mike Thompson.

Survivors include sons, Dock Thompson and wife Joyce of Lorida, Fla., Ernest Thompson and wife JoAnne of Moultrie, and J.D. Thompson and wife Dorothy of Norman Park; a daughter, Mildred Thompson of Moultrie; a brother, Walter Sloan of Moultrie; a sister, Ella Mae Giles of Moultrie; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren..

The family may be contacted at the family residence, 363 Indian Lake Drive, Moultrie.

Cobb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
