Medford "Doc" Thompson, 80, of Lorida died May 30, 2010. Born in Colquitt County, Ga., he moved to Florida in 1960. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1950-1956 during the Korean War; retired from Mobil Chemical Company and from IMC New Wales in 1994.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi "Joyce"; brother, Ernest; sister, Mildred; sons, Donnie, David, Randall, and Dana K.; daughter, Vicki Negron; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will take place at 4 p.m. Thursday, June 3 at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home, Sebring, with Chaplain David Springer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour preceding the service, beginning at 3 p.m.

THOMPSON, Medford "Doc," 80, of Lorida, Fla., passed away at home, surrounded by his family, May 30, 2010. He was born July 7, 1929, in Colquitt County, Ga., and moved to Florida in 1960. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1950-1956 during the Korean War; retired from Mobil Chemical Co. and then worked for and retired from IMC New Wales in 1994. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his son, James Michael Thompson; father, Walter Chance Thomson; mother, Julia Sloan Thompson and brother, J.D. Thompson. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Naomi "Joyce" Thompson; brother, Ernest Thompson; sister, Mildred Thompson; sons, Donnie (Jan) Thompson and David Thompson, both of Moultrie, Ga., Randall Thompson of Lorida, Fla., and Dana K. Thompson of Wellington, Fla.; and daughter, Vicki (Jose) Negron of Mulberry, Fla.; grandchildren, Monica (Wayne) Marrin, Cheryl (Troy) Stinson, Jason (Kelly) Thompson, Mark (Ashley) Price, James Michael (Lori) Thompson, Jr; Scotty Thompson, Chris (Eve) Thompson, Joshua Thompson, Justin Jordan and Tiffany Thompson; and 12 great-grandchildren.
