Funeral services for George Namie, 87, will be held at St Anne's Catholic church Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock, Mr Namie died at 2 am Sunday at his home, 525 West Vine street after a long illness.
Prayer service will be at 8:30 at the home Tuesday morning. Brown will be charge of burial at City cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Rose; four daughters, Mrs Mary Franklin, Oklahoma City; Mrs Nellie Sahead, Birmingham; Ms Rosa Copeland, Chattanooga; Mrs Ruby Shaia, Cleveland, Ohio; three sons, John L, Birmingham; Mike G and Frank of Decatur; a brother, Marion of this city and 14 grandchildren.
Mr Namie, who was born in Syria, had been a merchant in Decatur for 35 years.
