Son of the late John Thomas and Sarah Marnie Stroup Dameron, he was the widower of Mable Marjorie Splawn Dameron. Additionally, he was preceded in death by a son, Carlos Lamont Dameron; brothers, Madison Ray Dameron, William Luther Dameron, Thomas Robert Dameron and John Frank Dameron. He was survived by sons, Thomas Dameron (Suzanne), and Frank Damerson (Julia); two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Janie Rowe Dameron Valentine; and an extended family of relatives. He retired from Threads, Inc., in Gastonia, NC. He was an veteran of WWII (United States Army) and served in the final USA Cavalry Division. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Bessemer City, NC, where his funeral was held on June 1, 2010, with The Rev. Elizabeth Toler and The Rev. Jerry Millwood officiating.
