Married Hazel Meiers May 11, 1930. Jesse worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 26 years, was a member of the Eckley Volunteer Fire Department, and drove school bus for 28 years. He also worked as town marshal, town clerk and maintenance man for 28 years. He retired in 1977. Since the age of 6, Jesse spent his life in the Eckley area until the last year when he moved to Cedardale Nursing Home in Wray.
Survivors include a daughter, Millie and husband, Richard Byers of Eckley; two sons, Delpha and wife, Wilma and Don and wife, Frankie, both of Phoenix, AZ; one brother, Jay and wife, Violet of Denver; and one sister, Mona and husband, Russel Salter of Mesa, AZ.
