Jean F. Grigg , 87, formerly of Wyoming, died at 12:10 a.m. Friday, March 23, 2007, at Toulon Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 29, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Wyoming. The Rev. Joe Ballard will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Wyoming Funeral Home. Burial will be in Wyoming Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 12, 1919, in Wyoming, the daughter of Emery and Bertha (Faulkner) Peterson. She married Kenneth Grigg on Dec. 19, 1953, in Wyoming. He died Feb. 3, 2005, in Peoria.

Surviving are a son, David (Shirley) DeMent of Long Beach, Calif.; a grandson, Aaron DeMent; and three great-grandchildren. Her parents, two brothers and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She worked at Aldrich Co. in Wyoming for 20 years and at Wyoming Grade School for three years as a library assistant.

She was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, Wyoming, where she played the organ for 40 years. She also played the organ at Wyoming Funeral Home for many years.

She was past president of the former Wyoming Music Club. She also was on the Peoria Journal Star Advisory Board as a member of the Area Advisory Council of Central Illinois Agency on Aging.

She enjoyed music, and her family.

Memorials may be made to American Alzheimer's Association.
