Ms. Eartha Velma Simmons McAdory was born on February 28, 1917 to the late Albert Simmons and Lula McCoy Simmons in Attala County, Kosciusko, Mississippi.

She professed her belief in Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Church. Later she joined Mt. Cana M.B. Church. She served as President of the Mother's Board and Sunday School Treasurer. She attended church regularly until health failed her.

She was united in holy matrimony to Fred Lee McAdory. This union was blessed with nine children, two preceded her in death. She was a supportive mother to her family and raised her children in a Christian home.

She received her education in the Attala County School. She worked hard to inspire her children to achieve a higher education.

She departed this life peacefully on Tuesday, October 10, 1995 at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital at 5:00 a.m. in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

She leaves to cherish her memories: seven loving children; four daughters, Christine Hawthorne, Luseal McAdory, Linda (George) Smith, and Bobbie (Johnny) Barksdale, all of Kosciusko, Mississippi; three sons, Leroy McAdory, Mize McAdory of Kosciusko, Mississippi, and Jerry (Tangia) McAdory of Houston, Texas; fifteen grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister, Mavis McMillan of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; three brothers, James Simmons and Matthew Simmons of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Marvin (Eunice) Simmons. of Kosciusko, Mississippi: a sister-in-law, Iva Dean Simmons of Kosciusko, Mississippi; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
