Services for Fred Simmons, 87, were held Sunday at Mt. Cana Baptist Church.
Simmons, a native of Attala County, MS; died Feb. 16, 1994, at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital following an illness of several days.
He was a member of Mt. Cana Baptist Church, the singing convention; Sunday School of Mt. Hope District, and Lone Star Lodge No. 51.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Iva Dean Simmons; a daughter, Mrs. Cheryl Hayes of Jackson, MS; a son, Fred Simmons, Jr., of Milwaukee, WI; sisters, Mrs. Eartha McAdory of Kosciusko, MS; Mrs. Mavis McMillon of Milwaukee, WI; brothers, James Simmons, Matthew Simmons of Milwaukee, WI; and Marvin Simmons of Kosciusko, MS; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
Rev. O J. Crouther officiated.
Burial in Antioch Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS.
Winters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
