"Mrs Edna A. Carter, 85. Died on Nov. 8 at 10 p.m. at George County Hospital in Lucedale. The widow of Calhoune(sic) Carter, she was a lifelong resident of Jackson County. She resided at 913 Main St., Moss Point, and was a member of Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs Lola Mae Nelson of Wade; three sons, Roy, E. V. and Nollie Carter, all of Wade; 15 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 5 to 10 p.m. on Friday at Fails Funeral Home in Moss Point. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem Baptist Church with the Rev Rutherford officiating. The body will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the beginning of the service at the church. Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery in Wade."
