Bycelle D. Bedgood, 67, died in a Savannah hospital Saturday following a short illness.

A native of Washington County, Georgia, he had resided here for 40 years. He was a member of the Vidalia Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Vidalia Masonic Lodge, and was a Seaboard Railroad freight agent for 44 years.

Funeral services were held from the Tabernacle Baptist Church here Monday morning, with the Rev. Sidney Odom of Warner Robins, officiating. The Rev. Charles Whitson and the Rev. H.M. Scoates, Jr., assisted with the last rites. Interment was in Pinecrest Cemetery with Murchison Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were: Arlis Rigdon, John Sharpe, Ed Braddy, Kenneth Hightower, Herman Moore, Kenneth Sisson. Members of the Vidalia Masonic Lodge served as honorary pallbearers.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sallie Cannon Bedgood; three daughters, Mrs. H.M. Brewton, Sr., of Savannah, Mrs. Ben Jones of Macon, and Miss Tina Bedgood of Vidalia; one son, Raymond J. Bedgood of Atlanta; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Outlaw of Wrightsville and Mrs. M. Barbe of Gulfport, Fla.; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
