Etta Morgan, 75, Dies at Hospital; Funeral Thursday
"Mrs. Etta Morgan, 75, wife of William H. (Bish) Morgan and a native of Wayside, died at 5:25 o'clock Monday afternoon in Mercy Hospital. She had been seriously ill the past three weeks. Mrs. Morgan had been in failing health several months.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the Wayside Christian church. The Rev. Don Mardock of Bolton will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Joe Brown of Dearing. Burial in the Harrisonville cemetery will be directed by the Rodrick Funeral Home.
Mrs. Morgan was born on July 30, 1882 in Wayside. She was a daughter of Gene and Martha James. Her marriage to Mr. Morgan took place at her home on February 19, 1905. The couple observed their fifty-four anniversary this year.
Mrs. Morgan was baptized in the Christian church in her youth.
Surviving with the husband are a son, Robert James Morgan of Long Beach, Calif., and five brothers, Floyd, Royo, John and Forrest James of Portland, Ore., and Charles James of Bluejacket, Okla. Two granddaughters, Mrs. Patricia Persinger and Miss Alicia James of Long Beach and a great grandson, Joel Persinger, are other survivors. Her parents and a sister preceded her in death."
