William Storm, son of John and Sarah Storm was born in Pulaski Co., KY, on the Cumberland River, Aug. 10, 1829 and departed this life, May 7, 1894. He came with his father's family to Shelbyville in 1831 and soon located in Ash Grove where he spent 62 years of his life. He was married to Elizabeth Rankin, Dec. 18, 1848. To them were born nine children, two girls and seven boys. Two of the children preceded him to the better land. The rest of the children were all present at the burial, except one, Mrs. Elnora Lawton. Mr. Storm served two terms as justice of the peace and was an honorable and useful man in the community. He was one of the old pioneers of Ash Grove and his mother, familiarly known as Grandma Goode, was one of the charter members of the Ash Grove Church. The funeral services were held at Ash Grove church, conducted by Elder Harrell, assisted by Elder Hart in the presence of a very large and sympathetic assembly. The body was laid to rest in the Ash Grove cemetery. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the entire community. Peace to thy rest and love to thy memory. - Windsor Gazette - May 1894
